COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Feb. 14, 2023—David C Cook announced today that former DreamWorks Animation executive Rick Rekedal has been appointed as president of David C Cook. Rekedal will also serve as acting CEO of David C Cook, following the recent resignation of John Aden. Rekedal brings expertise in both business management and leadership that will enable David C Cook to reach a new generation with life-changing messages of hope and inspiration.
Rekedal’s award-winning career includes more than 20 years at DreamWorks Animation, where he served as chief creative of the global franchise group, head of licensing and interactive gaming, and head of online production. Past properties Rekedal has worked on include Trolls, Kung Fu Panda, The Prince of Egypt, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron and How To Train Your Dragon. Rekedal has also served as EVP, Global Marketing and Branding at Breyer, and founded StoryCrate, an intellectual property and business management consulting business. Rekedal is a trustee of Los Angeles Pacific University and holds a residency as the Senior Fellow for Storytelling at Belmont University.
