The Great Rift Valley is home to Africa’s iconic wildlife, including lions, elephants, giraffes, and gorillas, as well as the Maasai, an indigenous herding community that has lived there for over 500 years. While Christian missionaries have shared the gospel with the Maasai for more than 150 years, only in recent decades have many responded, and today over 40% identify as Christians.
Although churches have been established in the region, many children are unable to participate in ministry. Recently, the David C Cook’s Africa coordinator, Serah, trained local leaders to begin reaching Maasai children with Life on Life discipleship teaching resources, opening new opportunities for ministry.
